Dr. Griffis was born and raised in Southeast Georgia where he attended Georgia Southern University, earning his BS in chemistry, while minoring in music technology. Immediately after, he began optometry school in Memphis, TN at Southern College of Optometry where he would earn his doctorate of optometry in May of 2017.  Dr. Griffis has traveled to Central American countries such as Haiti and Nicaragua to provide optometric aid while sharing the gospel.

Dr. Griffis loves spending time with his wife, Dr. Megan Griffis, who is a pediatric hospitalist at Oconee in Seneca. Together they enjoy hiking, board games, exquisite foods, gardening, and exploring new cities. Together they have two amazing children. In his spare time, you can find Dr. Griffis outdoors, refurbishing older electronics, or playing drum set at his local church.
